Nation Of Islam
Amid recent attacks thrown at the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan and lies spewed by mainstream media, women of the Nation of Islam took to Twitter once again to defend the name of Farrakhan.
Topics included comments made by Alyssa Milano, Debra Messing and a statement made by the Women’s March, all regarding the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan.
Alyssa Milano, an actress and activist, is refusing to speak at upcoming Women’s March events unless Tamika Mallory and Linda Sarsour, both activists and organizers of the Women’s March, denounce Minister Farrakhan for what they consider to be anti-Semitic remarks.
I denounce Farrakhan.
— Alyssa Milano (@Alyssa_Milano) October 27, 2018
In the past, Mallory has had to defend her decision to work with the Minister and to attend events such as Saviours’ Day earlier this year and Justice Or Else! in 2015. Milano was among those who called Mallory out for “turning a blind eye to the hate spoken about a group of people.” Others called for her resignation, according to Atlanta Black Star.
“Will and Grace” star Debra Messing called out the Women’s March for not denouncing Minister Farrakhan. On top of that, she supported Milano’s decision to distance herself from the march.
What do Nation of Islam women have to say about that?
“Tonight we stand to defend the Honorable Minister @LouisFarrakhan against blatant lies that have circulated. Tonight those lies will be dismantled,” was the initial tweet by Ebony Muhammad, moderator of the chat.
Participants were asked to explain why claims of Minister Farrakhan being an anti-Semite, a bigot, a hater of the LGBTQ community and a man who’s against women, are untrue.
The sisters began firing off immediately.
A1: The issue with The Minister is he CAN'T be run off. He will not bow, because the power that backs him is greater than ANY power that attempts to come against him this is why they must lie they find weak ones who need their favor or those who rely on the wicked for sustenance.

A1: If the Minister was preaching anti-Semitism, his followers would have responded with hatred. He has been labeled an anti-Semite for over 30 years, but no harm has ever come to any Jewish person by a member of the NOI. #CoveredGirl #Farrakhan https://t.co/fBHH1fR27A

Many women said Minister Farrakhan can’t be classified as a bigot because of all of the friendships he has with people from various backgrounds. Not only that, but he lives by the principle of seeking knowledge.
A2 A bigot would never take time to squash beef between (non-Muslim) rappers, empathize with his people in the LGBT community or invite members of the @womensmarch and others w different views/faith to be apart of 10/10/15 Justice or Else etc. @LouisFarrakhan is no such thing. ??♀️

The Minister has been nothing but an example of the Joseph that you read about in the Bible that had a coat of many colors. His world friendship tour found him meeting White Russian Muslims and people of many backgrounds and faith traditions. Bigots dont do that. #CoveredGirl

A popular lie going around about Minister Farrakhan is that he hates the LGBTQ community. The women participating in the chat debunked the claim.
I remember the minister saying that some of the brightest among us come from our LGBTQ+ Family (he calls them family). And that we can’t go anywhere without them. So…. I don’t know where they get this lie from. #CoveredGirl #Farrakhan

Q3: The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan's guidance for the LGBTQ community comes from scripture. That is where men of God speak from. And he has stated & demonstrated REPEATEDLY that he loves all people regardless of how our lives line up w/ scripture. #CoveredGirl #Farrakhan

The women also rejected the idea that denouncing Minister Farrakhan would take away from his work, and they directly challenged Alyssa Milano and Debra Messing on their motives and their seemingly hypocritical stance.
Minister Louis Farrakhan
NATIONAL REPRESENTATIVE OF THE HONORABLE ELIJAH MUHAMMAD AND THE NATION OF ISLAM
IN THE NAME OF ALLAH, THE BENEFICENT, THE MERCIFUL.
Statement from the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan
regarding his trip to Iran and message to Iran and America
[Minister Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam, a U.S.-based religious movement, recently traveled to Iran and spoke to Iranian students and others. Below is a statement he issued regarding that trip and correcting false and inflammatory media reports.]
TEHRAN, Iran – I am not and have never been an enemy to America, nor the people of America. However, I love America enough to speak unpleasant truths that are in the best interests of an erring nation that perhaps she may change her conduct and course. I have an abiding love for the right to free speech, the right to a free press and the right every human being has to hear the truth. It is only truth spoken in season that can bring us what we desire of freedom, justice, equality and, ultimately, peace.
I was invited to Tehran University to speak to students and engage in a dialogue with Iranian students. I was also invited to meet with other members of Iranian society for discussions about their concerns for their nation and concerns about world affairs, in particular the sanctions placed on Iran by President Donald Trump and his advisors.
I never led a chant that called for the death of America or Israel, contrary to misreporting in U.S., British and Jewish publications and the intentional, malicious and false reinterpretation of my words. There is nothing more important than truth today. The truth of anyone and anything is enough to condemn any individual or institution. But to make media mischief by altering my words from their places is a betrayal of the right to free speech, the blessing of a free press and a violation of the people’s right to know. It is wrong and shameful that journalists and news organizations that should seek the truth would traffic in such lies.
I never led a chant calling for death to America. To say otherwise is a blatant falsehood and an attempt to paint me as an enemy in a very dangerous time as tension rises between America and Iran and nations around the earth reject unjust sanctions and heavy-handed U.S. foreign policy. I asked a question about how to pronounce the chant in Farsi during my meeting with Iranian students and an examination of the video shows just that. My point was to engage students in a talk about what gives a nation perpetuity versus that which undermines and destroys a nation. Evil, falsehood and violation of divine law doom nations to destruction, and the holy books of the world’s three greatest monotheistic religions warn us of such. So if Iran is moving as a nation to obey God’s law, to respect and educate women and to pursue righteousness, she is on a right course. And, if America has violated the principles of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for the indigenous people and destroyed them, and if she has done the same for the Black and the Poor, America has not only violated Constitutional principles, she has disobeyed divine law and stands to be judged by God for her wrongdoing. And, American democracy, unfortunately, has always leaned toward and protected the interests of the White, the Rich and the Powerful.
So to stand with Iran against unjust sanctions and mass punishment is to stand in the proper place. To warn America that these sanctions—which have been rejected by the European Union, France, Britain, Germany, Russia, China and other countries—are wrong is to stand in the proper place. I am trying to help America face the error of her ways and see the enmity she is sparking across the globe alongside a growing loss of friendship. This is not good for America, nor the world and only marches us steadily to acrimony, conflict and the final war of Armageddon spoken of in the bible. America can no longer act unilaterally in the world and be successful. Success can only come from righting old wrongs and purposing just and progressive policies.
Some 40 years ago, Iranian students threw off the yoke of American domination through the overthrow of the Shah of Iran, a brutal dictator and tool of U.S. foreign policy. While the Iranians have problems to solve, as do every nation and people on earth, they are a proud and independent people. They do not wish to be under the thumb of America again. As I said several times in Tehran, the U.S. sanctions are a mistake. And, while dialogue should be a good thing, the U.S. has a history of lying and breaking her commitments. To survive, America must turn away from yesterday’s policies, go forward in a new spirit and seek a new direction.
America will never be undone by the angry chants of Iranians, or others who suffer under U.S. foreign policy. No foreign enemy will destroy America, but she faces divine judgment from God Himself. She faces an internal rot with her huge fiscal deficits, her fractured political system, her ugly political and public discourse, her frayed social networks, her rejection of spiritual values and a penchant for violence and mass shootings. She is a troubled nation. Her leadership is spiritually blind to the hour at hand and it appears as though they have the hearts of beasts.
Despite U.S. efforts to foment disunity and rebellion inside of Iran, the Iranian people may not be as gullible as America believes. Iranians have the right to resolve their own problems without outside interference, just as the U.S. has claimed its right to conduct elections free of Russian influence. Self-determination is a right of every nation.
The Muslim World needs unity and must find the path to reconciliation despite efforts to pit Muslims against one another. Satan seeks to divide Muslims and wants them to kill each other, while Allah God tells us in the Quran to be united.
It is also shameful that my visit to Iran was used by political hucksters and cynics to try to affect the recent political elections in the United States. The demonization of Louis Farrakhan will not solve serious U.S. problems and will not heal serious political and social divisions. So despite Donald Trump Jr.’s call for Democrats to disavow me and unjust criticism of me from some Democrats who reject me based on lies and political expediency, America needs a clear warner, who will speak the truth without compromise and without fearing the censure of any censurer. I am neither Right, Left nor Center. I stand on the side of Truth and wherever the Truth may be found. No political party or political leader has an exclusive lock on the Truth. They should stand for Truth whatever the Truth brings. Standing on truth is what will bring America perpetuity and if she refuses to change, she is destined for days of suffering and sorrow.
When God raises a Warner in a powerful nation, it is a blessing and a mercy. But rarely do the powerful rulers of such nations see the Warner or the Warning as valuable until it is too late. May Allah bless the powerful ones in America and those who control America to heed this warning. Medicine often has a slightly bitter taste but when taken in the proper dosage medicine can bring about a healing. The United States, a sin-sick nation, needs a healing and Allah God is offering a healing today provided that His guidance is followed and his Warner is heard.
The choice, however, remains with the American people and those who are in leadership. May Allah God bless this people and nation to make the proper choice.
One of the most rewarding and touching blessings of being consistent in the streets, is the genuine love we receive from the little gods who see us as their uncles. They followed us around the entire apartment complex today eager to go door-to-door with us handing out The Final Call Newspaper. Our beautiful niece right here refused to be outdone!! She was so geeked up!! ♥️
HOPE DEALERS: That moment when you’re working so cheerfully in the streets with a smile, that our people can’t help but roll down their windows and open their doors! The resurrection work doesn’t stop just because we’re experiencing record heat in Houston. And today’s push was epic!
Consistency is key in reaching the young gods. We do a lot of listening and learning from them. Allah has blessed us to build brotherhood in the streets.

America, despite all it’s popularity and appeal, has yet to live up to its promise of “liberty and justice for all.” In fact, I could go so far as to say the American Dream has not been experienced fully by anyone other than white American men, those who the dream was created for, anyway. Muslims, people of color, the poor and women have all been in a constant battle for equal rights since America’s birth and though some change has been made, all have yet to be treated fairly under the law. There has been no one more distant from receiving true freedom, justice and equality in this country than black women. That is, before the coming of Master Fard Muhammad, the long-awaited Messiah, to put us back on top of civilization. Reason 1 of 1 million reasons why I LOVE being a M.G.T.:
Muslim Girls Training and General Civilization Class (M.G.T. & G.C.C.). This was the name given to the training of women and girls in North America. As M.G.T., we are trained and given 7 units that we learn to master as the basis for our work as mothers, wives and most importantly, women of God:
- How to keep house
- How to rear our children
- How to take care of our husbands
- How to sew
- How to cook
- How to act at home
- How to act abroad
Now, now, now… please don’t let your eyes roll to the back of your head as your super-woman cape blows in the wind and proclaim that “this is outdated and there’s more to being a woman than cooking, cleaning and taking care of some man.” Let me say this: I can understand how as women we wouldn’t want to be reduced to what can be portrayed as just physically maintaining other people as the measure of our value. We have been mistreated for so long that when God comes with a criteria, we are still weary because it may seem to run parallel with the misogynistic views we have been so accustomed to defending ourselves against.
However, if we are honest with ourselves, we would admit that it’s not us having those skills that is the problem; it’s us being reduced to tools by men and undervalued as if we are only good for servitude. If we are honest with ourselves, we would admit that all of those skills would absolutely be beneficial to us as individuals and us as a community and society.
Our units as M.G.T. are coupled with knowledge that allows us to become not only good homemakers and women that our children, husbands and community can be proud of, but that which expands our mind into accepting our nature as powerful life vessels through which ALL life comes. The work that Master Fard Muhammad, then the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad and now the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan is doing with the black woman is reacquainting us with our rightful place as being a Co-Creator with God.
So as M.G.T., we learn not only recipes and skills, but we learn the science of food and how it can be used as a cure for all of our ills. As M.G.T., we not only learn how to take care of our men physically and emotionally and how to be a help-meet to him, but we learn the Divine purpose of marriage and how women were first the help-meet of the Creator when He created the entire universe. If that’s not empowering, I don’t know what is!
As a 21 year old young woman growing up in Chicago, I have found nothing more beneficial for me to learn than that which I get from my M.G.T. class. I am learning to be so well-rounded that I feel equipped to go into any situation and be able to represent myself in an upright manner. I no longer fear being single or by myself because I am learning to make God sufficient for all of my needs. I no longer fear having to wear clothes that I don’t feel comfortable in because I am being taught how to sew so that I can make them for myself. I no longer fear the time coming when there will be no food left in the grocery stores and famine will set in because I am being taught how to make and can my own food to preserve it for times to come. I no longer fear being raped or taken advantage of because I am being taught self-defense and how to fight with those who desire to fight with me.
I promise I’m not one to brag, but this MGT life is lit!! I thank God for caring about us enough to give us a class that we can go to as a safe haven, a training ground and a party on a Saturday morning where I can learn to be more pleasing to Him. I also thank The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad for dedicating his life to the cause of Freedom, Justice and Equality that does not exclude the due Justice deserved by black women. Additionally, I thank The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan for proving his love for us in his teaching, training and defense of us on a daily basis.

Social media attacks on the truth and Nation of Islam Minister increase and raise questions about opposition to freedom of speech, free thought and Black self-determination.
Those who vehemently oppose the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan recognize the global impact he has and is having on the masses via an array of social media platforms and they won’t stop until his accounts are completely shut down.
“Zbigniew Brzezinski, who was a national security adviser, I think under Jimmy Carter, he said, ‘It’s easier to kill a million people than to control a million people.’ With the technology that’s now available: You and I are talking, and the words that we just spoke are on social media,” said Minister Farrakhan during a recent radio interview in St. Kitts.
“If it’s on Facebook, if it’s on Instagram, if it’s on Twitter, if it’s on any of the media outlets that this iPhone and smartphone, and the work of Steve Jobs and others have done, the whole world is at our fingertips in an instant. The control of the masses that has always been the purview of elites who control media and information that goes to the public—that’s over now!”
He continued, “So what you have in Black America, in the Caribbean, in the UK, in Africa, all over the world, is an instant communication that is causing the awakening of the masses. This is both good and bad. It’s good that we are awakening, which means we are demanding more, we are trying to correct the mistakes that we make, but we are also forcing government to do what government does not want to do for the masses of Black and Brown people.”
Evidently, the Satanic Jews and Synagogue of Satan hate the sight of his words, videos and images trending and spreading on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or YouTube and generating millions of views. They hate to see daily comments and testimonies from those who are instantly touched by him on every continent. So, it’s no surprise that specifically the past eight months the online campaign to ban Minister Farrakhan has intensified. However, they have been countered by online users inside and outside the Nation of Islam who support Minister Farrakhan and have appreciated his presence on social media the past seven years.
De-verification and Defending Farrakhan
On June 8, Twitter, Inc. de-verified Minister Farrakhan’s Twitter account (@LouisFarrakhan) by removing his blue verification badge. While the opposition celebrated the decision, supporters of Minister Farrakhan found it to be a frivolous attempt to derail his social media reach; boldly declaring that he is verified by God and verified in the hearts and minds of the people.
According to their website, “The blue verified badge on Twitter lets people know that an account of public interest is authentic” and “a verified badge does not imply an endorsement by Twitter.”
According to their Terms of Service, “Twitter reserves the right to remove verification at any time without notice. Reasons for removal may reflect behaviors on and off Twitter that include: Intentionally misleading people on Twitter by changing one’s display name or bio. Promoting hate and/or violence against, or directly attacking or threatening other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or disease. Supporting organizations or individuals that promote the above. Inciting or engaging in harassment of others. Violence and dangerous behavior. (Directly or indirectly threatening or encouraging any form of physical violence against an individual or any group of people, including threatening or promoting terrorism. Violent, gruesome, shocking, or disturbing imagery. Self-harm, suicide.)”
Why is Minister Farrakhan’s account de-verified then?
Many news outlets reported that Minister Farrakhan’s blue verification badge was ultimately removed due to a video posted to his account on June 6 with the caption, “Thoroughly and completely unmasking the Satanic Jew and the Synagogue of Satan.” The clip, only a minute and a half in length, is from the May 27 address he delivered at Mosque Maryam in Chicago.
“I wonder will you recognize Satan. I wonder will you see the Satanic Jew and the Synagogue of Satan which has many races in it because Satan has deceived the whole world,” said Minister Farrakhan in the posted video, which has over 800,000 views.
“Think about the message that I was blessed by God to give you today. Think about what they’re going to say when they have been so thoroughly and completely unmasked. Whenever you read that God has told the Jews to hear and obey and they say, ‘I hear and I disobey,’ that’s Satan openly disobeying God. He’s prepared to take the whole world down with him. Come out. Come out of her my people,” he continued.
The Anti-Defamation League and others, such as CNN’s Jake Tapper, started attacking the entire message and that video clip in particular as being “hateful” and “anti-semitic.” Twitter, Inc. then started receiving numerous reports from those who flagged the video in hopes it would be removed for so-called violations of Twitter’s policies.
However, the email account connected to Minister Farrakhan’s Twitter page received multiple notifications from Twitter, Inc. with the following confirmation: “We have received a complaint regarding your account, @LouisFarrakhan, for the following content. We have investigated the reported content and could not identify any violations of the Twitter Rules (https://support.twitter.com/articles/18311) or applicable law. Accordingly, we have not taken any action at this time. Sincerely, Twitter.”
Many such as former Daily Mail reporter Karen Yossman tweeted out that they reported the same video yet received the same response from Twitter. If Twitter and their executives found no violations of their policies or terms of services in that video, what’s the motive for de-verifying Minister Farrakhan? Who is behind this?
CHICAGO—The brutal killing of 81-year-old Thana Muhammad in her home of 40 years drew anger, shock and calls for community involvement and healing to help solve the heinous murder.
A $5,000 cash reward has been offered and her daughter said a dialogue is necessary so “we can feel safe” and “not be deprived of our family.” Her daughter, longtime activist Ashanti Chimurenga, said, “My mother had a right to be safe.”
If you know something you have a moral obligation to come forward, she added.
Ms. Chimurenga, flanked and surrounded by the Nation of Islam’s Fruit of Islam from Mosque Maryam, vowed to walk the streets of the city to seek justice for her mother. Police said there was plenty of blood in the basement and someone cleaned it up, said family members. The dismembered body was found in two bins.
Despite the personal pain, the problem is not just my mother’s death, said Ms. Chimaranga. My mother was found in garbage bins but Black youths leave us in boxes, she said. The family stressed their love and commitment to the Black community and unwillingness to simply be victims.
“You don’t have to be necessarily involved in what happened to know something,” said Camille Durham, who cited the family history of activism and involvement in the Black community. She does criminal defense work for indigent defendants, her mother has taught inmates and children and advocated for death row inmates, her uncle was the late Chicago alderman Michael Chandler and another family member served on the police force.
“We love our community,” said Ms. Durham. My grandmother was a Muslim and died during Ramadan, she added. “I know she hollered out for Allah and I know he reached his hand out to her, I’m ok with that,” she said. But, she added, it’s not okay for someone to die in a home of 40 years.
“We should be very afraid,” said Ms. Durham. “People are losing their humanity and we have to get it back.”
Thana Muhammad came to Chicago from Arkansas with her parents, who were homeowners and business owners and started a legacy of service, said her granddaughter.
Born Mattie Jean Chandler, she was a devout Muslim since the 1970s, joining the Nation of Islam under the Hon. Elijah Muhammad, said Ms. Durham. Her grandmother spent over 40 years in the health profession as a radiologist, owned a restaurant during the 1970s and was a building rehabber, said Ms. Durham. “She (Ms. Muhammad) gave property to people sometimes who she knew wouldn’t pay. But she had a soft spot for people in the community,” said the granddaughter.
Family stressed their determination that the beautiful life and legacy of Thana Muhammad would not be murder victim. They described her as active, strong, charitable, loving and living life on her own terms, with ties on the South Side and the West Side of Chicago. “Those that nobody else would help, she was right there,” said her niece. “She was so much bigger than the tragedy that took her life.”
Ms. Muhammad was robbed two and a half weeks after returning to the home. Whoever committed this murder is a “monster,” who needs help, said her granddaughter. “You should be very afraid,” said Ms. Durham.
Something small could be important, just share the information, said family members.
The elderly woman’s remains were found after a real estate agent was unable to reach Ms. Muhammad, came to the house, noticed a foul odor and called police.
A police spokesman said much effort was put into this “horrific act.” Authorities believe Ms. Muhammad was killed in her home.
The death occurred on the Far South Side of the city, near 100th and Forest Avenue in the city’s Rosemoor neighborhood. There is an email address, JusticeForThana@gmail.com, and a Justice For Thana Facebook page where information can be shared. Family members can be reached at 224-678-5001. Voicemail messages should be left if the phone is not answered. If leery of talking to police, call the family, said Ms. Muhammad’s loved ones.
Ms. Muhammad’s silver 2012 four-door Honda Accord and her purse were stolen. The vehicle’s license plate No. is R881876. It was found on Chicago’s West Side in the Lawndale neighborhood. “Help us, help yourself, help the city,” her granddaughter pleaded.
Anyone with information is urged to call Area South Detectives at 312-747-8271.
