I was blessed to be there to witness it.
After enjoying three days of workshops focused on self-improvement and community empowerment at this year’s Saviours’ Day convention, the man of the hour was the focus of the world on February 28. When the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan took the stage at Chicago’s United Center, the crowd of 20,000 plus erupted in anticipation of his guidance and warning in the message titled “The Time and What Must Be Done”.
“Some people think I’m a prophet,” Minister Farrakhan said. “But I have to say, the word ‘prophet’ is too cheap a word. Prophets come in the absence of God like moonlight comes in the absence of the sun. I come to fulfill that which you have read from the prophets. I come in the light of the sun.”
“It’s not an accident that a great earthquake took place in Chile,” said Minister Farrakhan, 76, who spoke for over three hours. “It precipitated what I have to tell you today of what’s coming to America. You will not escape…I desire to guide you and warn you of things that are coming that you must try to prepare yourselves for because we are absolutely living in the change of worlds.”
His keynote address culminated the annual celebration of the birth of Master Fard Muhammad, who founded the Nation of Islam in North America 80 years ago. Minister Farrakhan delivered a serious warning to President Barack Obama, the government and the leaders of the world.
“They are going to skew intelligence, like they did for (Colin) Powell to try to trick (President) Obama into a war with Iran,” warned Minister Farrakhan.”If you go to war with Iran, I can’t join.”
Thousands from across the globe also viewed Minister Farrakhan’s address via Internet webcast . I had the opportunity to do up to the minute updates on Twitter and upload live shots to Facebook. The Twitter hashtag for the entire Saviours’ Day weekend was #sd2010.
