In 1987, The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan electrified the world with a lecture-series titled, “How to Give Birth to a God.” The certainty and passion with which the Minister delivered this five-part lecture series left no doubt that it was completely inspired by God. Over the decades, this serieshas motivated and encouraged many to make serious changes by applying the specified recommendations so they may one day produce their own little gods. Yet, there are others who are unfortunately blocking a multitude of potential blessings, unable to get beyond one word in his lecture title – God! No surprise as to who has the biggest reservations – the so-called religiously devout: ‘What does he mean, give birth to a god? That’s impossible, not to mention sacrilegious andblasphemous.’ So let’s deal with that first.
Giving birth to a god does NOT mean giving birth to the Supreme Being – Allah (God). It does not mean giving birth to the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth; that’s been done. It does not mean giving birth to the One who is Possessor of power over all things; can tune-in to over seven billion minds without confusing a thought; and controls every atom in the Universe. We are not referring to The One God we pray to for protection and guidance; or to demonstrate our gratitude. Nor are we referring to giving birth to The One with Supremacy in knowledge, wisdom, understanding and power. He has no equal – no partners – no associates.
The Bible reads, “I have said, ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High”(Psalm 82:6, KJV). The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan explains, “Now Brothers and Sisters, the greatest goal of all is to meet with, or to form a perfect union with, Almighty God Allah. When there is a perfect union with God and when we become one with our Creator, then the Attributes of God come right across our own personality and character, so that we become one with the Source of life, so that when you see the person, you are actually looking at God…If you can become one with the Creator, join with Him in a perfect union, which is a great struggle, then His Attributes, His own unique Personality, will impress Itself upon you and His own being will come across your being, so that you die, He lives, in you – through you. When they see you, they see Him, for you are in Him and He is in you” (Self-Improvement: The Basis for Community Development).
The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad said, “Whenever you look at a Blackman, you are looking at God.” Black men and women are direct descendants of Allah (God); the Creator of the Universe. Our physical and spiritual essence can be traced directly back to The Most High. We are the Original people of the planet Earth. To give birth to a god is the activity of returning to the nature in which we were created in order to actualize our god potential. At present we are unrecognizable as His children because we have been made other than ourselves. This is why there is a need for prophets and messengers – they are commissioned to guide the people of God back to the straight path after deviation from His principles and commandments.
So, what is a god? A god exudes the highest degree of submission on all planes of existence – spiritually, mentally and physically; pursuing his or her purpose in life. Physically, a god is strikingly beautiful! He or she looks different from all others. Their level of discipline in terms of diet, exercise and belief manifests itself in their physical appearance. Some say, they have a perpetual shine or glow – the mark of submission. A god is healthy and physically strong – he or she has the potential to live as long as the old patriarchs we read about in the Scriptures. The original people are capable of living for several centuries and still maintain all faculties of reason and function. We know that it is difficult to comprehendsuch longevity when we continue to marvel at those who manage to reach the century mark; but one-hundred is a mere baby.
Mentally, a god is what this world would call a genius and may want to study how his brain works. He is extraordinarily knowledgeable and wise. He is not only academically advanced, but The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan said that a god has the mental strength of a prophet and a seer. Some gods are born with the gift of prophecy while others develop it through an intensive study of history and current events. This means that a god, who is one with his Creator and the Universe, will know tomorrow’s headlines, today.
A god uses 95 to 99 percent of his mental capacity. Minister Jabril Muhammad wrote, “The human mind has grades. There is nothing irrational in believing that there are realms, or mental levels, beyond the experience most of us live on” (This Is the One). Those gods who have reached the most advanced of these realms or mental levels are those who can communicate with other gods telepathically. They have also literally mastered mind over matter; moving objects with just their thoughts (telekinesis or psychokinesis). They can manipulate the weather and other forces of nature; and can even travel anywhere in the world without leaving their seat.
A god experiences a spiritual apex when he forms a perfect union with the Supreme Being. Morality, integrity, and an impeccable character come with ease to a god. His greatest desire is to live a life pleasing to Allah (God), while fully realizing his own divinity. To be human and divine is NOT an oxymoron – in truth, it is only when we can accept our own divinity that we will be able to manifest our true selves. Some gods are so spiritually advanced, ascending to such a degree that they can self-heal and heal others without the aid of doctors or medicine.
A god understands and begins to pursue his purpose in life at an early age. He or she is supreme in their field of endeavor. A god is powerful and courageous; willing to “stand up against the odds and deliver the people from the oppressor.”A god has force and power to change reality by creating a new and better reality. He or she can both call into existence and control their own circumstances because they have mastery over self and environmental influences. We can produce these gods in one generation or sometimes more; but the process must begin now if we desire, at some point, toexperience our human potential.
It is good to learn about the advanced science and mathematics which allowed us to build the pyramids; but we cannot stop there – the Black man and woman put all the planets into orbit; the moon and all the stars. If this all sounds like fantasy or fiction, it is only because we have fallen so far from our Father that we cannot fathom an elevated plane of existence. Not to mention we have been lied to about the reality of God. The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad teaches that God is not a spook, spirit or a mystery. He is a flesh and blood, breathing, living human being; which means we can be like Him. The only difference between Him and us is that He is Supreme in Knowledge, Wisdom, Understanding and Power. Take it or let it alone!
