During Part IV of his historic 1987 lecture series, How to Give Birth to a God, The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan said, “You do not know how to make a baby. You know how to let one be made; but you don’t know how to properly make one. You’re making one whether you know it or not – your thoughts are being projected onto the womb…You are so powerful, Sisters. When you get into the right frame of mind, you can produce mental giants from your womb with a predisposition to master this life – any phase of it, you can produce that. Do you doubt that? We have done it accidentally. Now, what about if we did it with purpose?”

Most of us have seen images or footage of a surgeon operating on his patient? The surgeon could be the hospital’s chief surgeon, but he is NEVER in the operating room alone. There is always a surgical team or unit assigned to assist any head surgeon. If he had no other choice, there is a chance that left unassisted, he could manage to still save his patient’s life; but it would be very difficult and complications would likely ensue. So, the role of the additional doctors, nurses, and technicians is critical. They make sure that the head surgeon’s work is safe, unimpaired, and produces optimal resultsfor the patient. Every person assisting in that operating room is very clear of his or her role and responsibilities. And although they are “co-operating” and assisting the head surgeon; it is also very clear that they work under his direct guidance and supervision.
So it is with the expectant mother and Allah (God)! In order for a woman to actively co-operate and co-create with Allah (God) as life is forming in her womb; she must be knowledgeable of her role and how she can best assist The Creator. One of many things a woman can actively do to serve Allah (God) is to remain mindful of His attributes – one of which is, The Truth. We all know that we should always speak the truth. But there is added importance for a woman to do so during pregnancy. Lying can be a particularly dangerous act to engage in while the baby’s brain is developing in the womb.
Have you ever witnessed a two or three-year-old lie to you or to someone else? The child is asked, “J.J., did you spill powder all over the floor?” And little J.J. lies right to his mother’s face when there is no one else in the house except for the two of them. Then the mother wonders, “Where did this child learn to lie like that?” We know that no parent in their right mind consciously trains or teaches their child how to lie. So the question is, how did they learn? A two-year-old has likely not been influenced much by society; so we must travel back to the womb to find the answer.
In her book, The Force and Power of Being: Lift Yourself to a Higher State of Energy and Expression, Student Minister Ava Muhammad explains ‘thought,’ as she received it in a lecture by Dr. Jewel Pookrum, who among other things, studies the process of mind-body interaction. The following is quoted from Minister Ava’s book: “The form of thought is liquid, it is manufactured by the brain, and that liquid is carried by the blood and nerves to every cell in the physical body. When a thought, which is liquid, starts traveling around in a body it visits all of your cells. It penetrates right through the cell membrane into the nucleus of that cell. In that nucleus is a chemistry lab. You have six trillion tissue cells in your body, and inside each one is a whole laboratory. This is how wonderful your God is. And when that thought breaks in through that membrane, and comes into that laboratory and looks around, that thought takes charge over that lab, and that thought starts stimulating the creation of enzymes, chemicals, and other substances to direct the intelligence of that cell to do what it wants.”
Every action is first preceded by a thought. We have to think about lying before we act on it, since the objective is for our deception to be effective. The process of thinking produces a chemical reaction in the body. Evidence to prove this is found in the use of sodium pentothal or “truth serum.” Scientists have crafted a chemical that can force a person whose lying has become second nature, to tell the truth. Regardless of how strongly they wish to keep the truth hidden; a chemical can break them down. So if a chemical can make us tell the truth regardless of our desire to lie; then a lie is a chemical and the truth is also a chemical. The significance in pregnancy is obvious. When we tell lies while we are pregnant, we generate a chemical reaction that permeates from the brain, then penetrates our cells, our blood, the placenta and ultimately our baby. Right from the womb, we are birthing into the world children with a propensity for lying. Children who have no respect for truth and will lie at the drop of a dime – without hesitation. We are creating liars from the beginning.
If we examine our own experience with liars, we can bear witness that Allah (God) formed everything with Truth because lying brings with it an unsettling aura. Have you ever felt instinctively that someone was lying to you without any actual facts to confirm the feeling? It was just something about the way they said it – the words vibrated unnaturally off of their lips – their mannerisms and demeanor just didn’t jive. Our body is constantly sending vibrations into the atmosphere and we are constantly picking up and responding to the vibrations that we receive from others. Polygraphs or lie detector tests, rely heavily on vibrations. Vibrations in the form of a faster heart rate, higher blood pressure and increased perspiration are some of the indicators used to prove that a person is lying.
In the Book of John, Jesus is speaking to the powerful Jews and says, “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it” (John 8:44, KJV). The devil is not the devil only because he was physically grafted from the original. What makes him evil and wicked are the teachings he received in the beginning; while he was being fashioned into shape. Whatever is going on while something is being made goes directly into the thing that is being made. This means, it was in the very nature of the devil to be a deceitful liar.
Conversely, it is in the nature of the original man and woman to be righteous truth-tellers. But if we give our babies a different teaching based on lies and falsehoods, we too can bake into their genetic make-up a tendency for lying. During one of his lectures, The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan asked the audience why it was so difficult to remember the good things we have done in our lifetime, but we can easily and quickly list every low-down rotten thing we have ever done since childhood. He answered for the audience; saying, doing ‘good’ comes naturally so we don’t think about it – it is not necessarily a big deal to us. But doing evil goes against the grain of our nature, so it constantly agitates the psyche.
The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad teaches, “The brain cells are created to think rightly. To think rightly means to perceive reality properly, and to think on the basis of truth. Since falsehood has created nothing, falsehood then has a negative effect on the cells of the brain.” We can physically damage the brain cells of our babies while they are in utero. This means that before they are born we have placed them at a significant disadvantage. But just as easily, we can give them a proper start by keeping our focus on Allah (God), who is The Truth. Our desires, our thoughts, our actions and our entire being can align with Allah (God); and this will be projected on the womb, helping us to produce gods from the beginning.
